Sophomore Keyona Price took first place in the 100-meter dash in 12.86 at the Ferris Yellowjackets King Tesei Relays on March 24.
Price also took first place in the girls long jump finals with a leap of 15 feet. Shakira Peck finished second in the long jump with a jump of 13 feet, 10 inches. Peck also finished second in the 200-meter dash in 29.11. Myajia English finished fourth in the 200 in 33.74.
In the boys’ 100-meter dash, Geo Manning took second in 11.52, followed by Rayshawn Speed in 11.59 and Juan Quevedo in 11.71. Quevedo finished third in the boys 200-meter dash in 24.30 and Speed finished sixth in 26.96.
“The entire team did their absolute best at the meet,” boys track coach Daniel Wilson said. “The most important thing was that they saw what they needed to improve on to be even better than their best.”
The North Dallas girls relay team won the 4 X 100 meter relays in 54.71 ahead of Pinkston. The girls finished second to Pinkston in the 4 X 400 relays in 5:29.37.
In the girls 800 meters, freshman Pilar Pineda finished sixth in 3:07.80.
In the girls shot put finals, Lea Brooks finished fourth with a throw of 19-04, and Amy Oliva took fifth with a throw of 18-06.
In the boys 400-meter dash, Jeremiah Cooper finished eighth in 1:01.35, followed by Keyon Stokely in 1:02.96.
The North Dallas boys relay team finished second in the 4 X 100, and second in the 4 X 200 relay in 1:41.09.
Luis Martinez finished fourth in the discus throw with a throw of 83-01, and also took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 32-09. Jose Huerta and Cooper finished fourth and fifth in the long jump finals.
