One of the leaders on this year’s girls cross country team is senior Abigail Aldape. Abigail has missed the past two meets but hopes to return this week as the boys and girls compete at the Gary Horner/Molina meet on Saturday at Jesse Owens Complex. Abigail took a few minutes to answer a few questions about herself:

College you plan to attend: University of Texas at Arlington or Texas Christian University
School activities: UIL competition, Action team and LULAC
My hobbies are: running and riding my bicycle
I’m most proud of: becoming a member of the National Honor Society
My favorite school subject is: math and science
The two people I’d most like to meet are: CrossFit athletes Lauren Fisher and Katrín Davíðsdóttir
My favorite restaurant is: Cheddar’s
My favorite movie is: “The Best of Me”
My favorite musical artist is: Adele
My favorite professional team is: Dallas Charge
My favorite pro athlete is: Lauren Fisher

I wish I knew how to: Sign language
If I won the lottery, I would: donate half of the money to the National Foundation for Transplants. And the other half goes to my college tuition.
If I could travel anywhere, I would go to: South Korea
One thing people don’t know about me is: I enjoy working out every day at my Crossfit gym called Crossfit Big D.
What are your thoughts on the cross country season so far? This year, I have seen many of my teammates pushing themselves to have a better time for their 2 or 3 mile run. I’m confident that most of us will make it to regionals.
What are your goals for this season? My goal is to make it to regionals this year.
How does cross country help you with other sports? Cross country helps me with my conditioning.
