Despite a winless District 12-5A season, the North Dallas Lady Bulldogs placed two players on the first team All-District 12-5A team.
Junior Duyen Lai earned first team honors at catcher and sophomore Ladaysha Robinson earned an outfield spot on the first team.
Senior Janette Lopez was named to the second team at first base.
“I think it says a lot about the effort the girls put in this season since we didn’t win any district games,” softball coach Chris Barnhill said. “They impressed not only Coach [Troy] Power and myself, but all the coaches in our district.”
Barnhill had a few words to say about each player:
On Duyen: “This is Duyen Lai’s second year to receive high praise from the coaches in our district. In 2016, she was the utility player of the year and this year, she was chosen for first team all-district. Duyen has great game awareness and continues to improve every year.”
On Ladaysha: “Ladaysha Robinson stepped up as the leader of the outfield and made many great plays in the outfield this season. She also set the bar high for the rest of the team on offense.”
On Janette: “This was Janette Lopez’s first year to play first base. Her hard work during the year paid off and she made some solid plays.”
