The North Dallas Lady Bulldogs soccer team will be in action Friday night, and head coach William Prussack is hoping for a great turnout, like more than 200 people.
No, it’s not a game. It’s a fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Chipotle, 7700 North Central Expressway in Dallas. Prussack examined the numbers:
“First, depending on how many people show up to Chipotle on Dec. 1 will determine how much money we earn,” Prussack said in an email. “Chipotle is gracious enough to donate 50 percent of what they collect. It works out to about 5 dollars per person to the program. So if 200 people show up, we could make $1,000. Once I know how much money we have to work with, then I can apply it to our equipment needs for the program.”
When you go, show the flyer below, or tell the cashier that you’re there to support the Lady Bulldogs soccer team.
Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs are holding tryouts this week, and are just a month away from their first scrimmage of the season.
Prussack said he likes what he sees in the tryouts. He lost only two seniors from last year’s team, which was in contention for the playoffs until the final week last season.
The Lady Bulldogs will be led by junor Xya Balderas, who scored over 20 goals last season.
“My expectations are for all the players to take care of business in the classroom, train hard, and play as a team,” Prussack said. “The key to winning, with or without Xya, is competing by playing the game the way it was meant to be played, as a team.”
The Lady Bulldogs’ first scrimmage is scheduled against Thomas Jefferson at 6 and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 at Franklin Field.
See you at Chipotle on Friday!
