Five North Dallas football players earned first team All-District 12-5A honors this season, according to the list on The Dallas Morning News website.
The five players, who were selected by the other coaches in the district, included:
- Isaiah Dyson, senior, interior defensive line
- Cinqué Lampkin, sophomore, defensive end
- Jah’Ques Shelvy, junior, defensive back
- Tykedreaus Elder, senior, wide receiver
- Bernic Woodson, junior, offensive lineman
Earning second team All-District 12-5A honors were inside linebacker Francisco Garcia, outside linebacker Jeremiah Cooper, running back Quaydrian Frazier, wide receiver Christian Armstrong, punter Kavonn Price and kicker Jesus Zambrano.
“That shows that we’re making strides,” North Dallas head coach Fred Johnson said. “We starting to gain some respect.”
Last year, North Dallas had only one player make first team all-district honors.
Johnson said he was pleasantly surprised by the selection of Bernic, the Bulldogs’ biggest lineman who is listed on the roster at 6-foot-2 and 380 pounds. Bernic was in his first season playing for North Dallas.
“He’s turning out to be a great leader,” Johnson said about Bernic. “He’s pushing the other kids. He’s going to be a great one.”
