Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Bulldogs to recognize seniors tonight against Adamson

Xya Balderas often takes on two to three players at a time and still gets through with the ball. Xya has scored 23 goals this season.

North Dallas’ Lady Bulldogs will recognize Senior Night during their game against Adamson at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Franklin Field.

Adamson does not have a JV, so the game time has been moved up to 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs are in fourth place and 5-3-1 in District 12-5A play. Adamson is 0-8 in district.

“While the game tonight against Adamson is important, every game should be treated as such because any team in this league could win on any given day,” North Dallas Coach William Prussack said. “We cannot take Adamson lightly.

“My thoughts on the race to the finish is we have to play to win every single game.”

The Lady Bulldogs are led in scoring by Xya Balderas with 23 goals and Liliana Flores with 10 goals.

“It feels good to know we have girls that can finish, but I’ve always coached by the philosophy that defense wins games,” Prussack said. “We can score, but the main focus is preventing the other team from scoring. This season we’ve really improved in our goals allowed per game.”

Liliana Flores takes a shot against Bryan Adams.

Here is the breakdown of the overall goals scored:

Xya Balderas | 23 Goals
Liliana Flores | 10 Goals
Diana Romero | 2 Goals
Anahi Hurtado | 3 Goals
Jennifer Peralta | 1 Goal

The Lady Bulldogs are off next week for spring break and return to action against Woodrow Wilson at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove.

Liliana Flores scored 5 goals in the first meeting against Adamson.
