Boys Varsity Soccer · North Dallas coach has high expectations as Bulldogs open season at Seagoville

The Bulldogs scrimmaged Skyline to a 0-0 tie last week. Tuesday night, they play at Seagoville in the season opener.


North Dallas soccer Coach Jose Aguirre has high expectations for this year’s Bulldogs varsity team.

“My expectations for the team are to give good games against any opponent and to have fun while they compete,” he said recently in an email. “Also to have 98% to 100% of the student-athletes passing in all their classes.

“As for results, I expect the team to win district and get to the playoffs in the best form as possible.”

The playoff road for the Bulldogs begins at Seagoville with the JV game at 6 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m. at Henry Stadium.

Aguirre has eight players returning from last year’s varsity team that went 23-2-5 and advanced to the UIL regional quarterfinals.

The returning players include Kevin Zuniga, Jose Cervantes, Daniel Galindez, Sergio Cibrian, Said Lopez, Alexis De Luna, Bryan Coello and Erick Serrano. Eight freshmen are also on the team.

“The e team strengths right now are a very solid defense and a lot of teamwork,” Aguirre said.
