Calling all Bulldogs! Come to North Dallas High School on Thursday, May 21, and let’s give an ovation to the Class of 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Social distancing and face masks are required per CDC guidlines as we celebrate the North Dallas Class of 2020.
The seniors and family members riding with them will parade around the school in their cars at 7 p.m. No student or family member will be allowed to exit their car. They will start in front of North Dallas, then proceed down McKinney Avenue to Elizabeth Street and then on Cole Street as they head back to school.
The parking lots and area around North Dallas High School will only be available to teachers and staff members.
Alumni, community members and guests are encouraged to attend and give the seniors an ovation — with lots of clapping, yelling, and cheering — that they will never forget. Parking is available to all alumni, community members, and guests at The Church of the Incarnation.
Alumni, community members and guests should spread out and social distance on the sidewalks along McKinney and Cole to cheer on the seniors. There will be X’s along the North Dallas side of the street for social distancing and separation.
Bring a sign to show your support for your favorite senior or seniors. The seniors are also encouraged to decorate theirs cars for this special occasion.
Banners of the graduating seniors will be hanging on the fence around the back of the building for the seniors to see as they parade around North Dallas.
“Let’s line the park and celebrate our amazing students and their HUGE accomplishments, but be overly cautious utilizing social distancing and masks, as health and safety for all remains our number 1 priority” North Dallas Principal Katherine Eska said in an email.
Let’s make some noise, and a night to remember! Stay safe, stay healthy and maintain the social distancing. Bring your face masks!
The North Dallas Class of 2020 will hold its virtual graduation on May 26. The ceremony will run at 7 p.m. on a Dallas ISD Facebook page, and also air on Spectrum TV cable channel 1300.
On May 27, an activity is being planned for the seniors to pick up their graduating banners and receive a gift bag.
