North Dallas Coach Troy Power was very happy with the results of Saturday’s cross country meet at Samuel Farm.
Oh, there was a little drama at the start when the North Dallas bus arrived a few minutes late for the first varsity race of the season. The five Lady Bulldogs runners jumped off the bus, received their bibs and headed to the starting line. And then they ran the three-mile course.
The Lady Bulldogs did very well, with three runners — Emyli Estrada, Kelly Maldonado, and Iliana Morfin — finishing in the top 10, North Dallas Coach Troy Power said.
The boys team placed two runners — Gabriel Chavez and Vincent Maya — in the top 10 in their race, Power said.
“They showed up ready to run,” Power said. “If they can keep that up, I’ll be extremely pleased.”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Bulldogs are competing in circuit races against schools from Dallas ISD, Mesquite ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Richardson ISD, and Garland ISD. The opponents at Samuel Farm included North Mesquite, Thomas Jefferson, Sunset, Adamson, and R.L. Turner.
