As she walked on the track to get ready to leave Wilmer-Hutchins Stadium, North Dallas boys track Alana Cummings was very happy Thursday with the District 12-4A track and field results.

The boys varsity team finished fourth with 66.5 points in the team standings, a half point behind third-place Roosevelt, which had 67 points. The boys JV team finished third. The girls varsity finished fifth while the girls JV finished third.

“Great, everybody did great,” Coach Cummings said. “Everybody did really well. I’m happy. We’ve got quite a few [going to Area round].”

Leading the way was Quincy Goldsmith, who took first place in the long jump and finished second in the 100 meters, and Mohammad Bility, who finished first in the 300-meter hurdles. Quincy and Mohammed also competed on the 4 by 100 relay.

Other qualifiers include Kyler Bolden in the 400 meters, the boys 4 by 100 relay team, the boys 4 by 200 relay team, and Joseph Oluwayemi in the discus.

Aayliah Bookman qualified in the girls shot put on Tuesday.
